There is a long standing tradition of derivative work based on the Drupal logo (Lovingly refered to by the Drupal community as Drupalicon). For example Drupal conferences and bar camps each come up with their own version of the Drupalicon for the event logo.

The Drupalicon has a versatile shape. The icon is actually drop of water (Drupal is derived from the Dutch word "druppel", which means "drop" as in a water droplet.) But, I have always seen an alien invader in that icon... So, I wanted to put him in a space suit and let him invade the physical world.

I knew early on that if I were to bring Drupalicon into the physical world it would likely be in the shape of a Munny. Munny too is a versatile shape that has lent itself to literally thousands of DIY (Do it yourself) and professional artist Munny and Dunny projects.

The first thing I did was sketch out how the project might look.

Luckily there are templates available for DIYers which help you to get your proportions correct. I downloaded printed out a handful of the Munny templates and just started doodling.

Once I had the settled on the design, I refined the sketch in photoshop and was ready to start the project.
